This workshop is ideal for groups that have a minimum amount of time but want to introduce leadership concepts and constructs to their membership. Building an open, trusting and productive team requires encouraging authentic communication, practicing positive affiliation behaviors and examination of trust building and conflict resolution. This workshop uses interactive exercises, simulations and activities to bring out the creative capacities within all of us to design and develop strategies for building a collaborative and cooperative team.

Ethical Decision Making
Length: minimum one hour; Client Goals/Outcome based

One of the true measures of good leadership is the ability to make good decisions. How do your ethics and values impact your decisions as a member of your team? This interactive session will explore Kitchener's Five Ethical Principles Model as a basis for considering the ethical impact of the decisions we make daily. Concentric Circles, video vignettes, forced choice exercises, and role plays will be used to challenge participants to practice and integrate these principals in their decision making. Participants will be asked to bring specific examples from their experiences into the workshop. Strategies for making balanced ethical decisions will also be explored and brainstormed.

Through the use of an interactive card game simulation, this workshop will challenge participants to examine the assumptions, beliefs, attitudes and subsequent actions we make when we limit our options for communication and interaction with others, both inside and outside of our organization. Participants will discuss strategies for going beyond the resources of their own organization to maximize the visibility, productivity and effectiveness of their group.

This workshop will examine and explore the many and varied humor empathy strategies for creatively using humor to strengthen your organization. If you are looking for some creative, FUNdamental ways to reduce member stress, resolve staff conflict or just keep everyone actively engaged ~ this workshop is for you! Participants will be required to assess the sources of humor in their lives, engage in activities focused on the potential of improving leadership through laughter and brainstorming ideas and strategies for invigorating their organizations!

Making Time vs. Finding Time for Yourself

All too often we catch ourselves saying "If I could only find the time, I would..." . The truth of the matter is you can't find anymore time... there are 24 hours each day for the finding. MAKING time for yourself and the priorities you set for each day is the challenge. This interactive and humorous session will provide participants with an opportunity to critically examine the decisions they make regarding time. Setting priorities, identifying MUSTS, WANTS and MUST/WANT activities, targeting goals and establishing evaluation criteria will be conducted. the priorities will provide participants with options to get the most out of each day.

Eggsamining Stress Management Strategies
Length: minimum one hour; Client Goals/Outcome based

Are you frequently in a hurry? Do you say "WHERE ARE MY KEYS???" daily?? Do you have more conversations with yourself than anyone else??? This session will help you examine your stress management strategies for those days when you feel FRIED, SCRAMBLED OR EVEN SUNNY SIDE UP! A personal stress assessment, FUNdamental humor based interactive exercises to examine options for dealing with stress, and group sharing of ideas will be presented. Resources for future understanding and growth will also be shared!

Contributing to the creation of a strong and open community in the workplace starts with the individual leaders who challenge the members of their organizations to intentionally build community. This workshop will creatively challenge participants to explore and examine their personal awareness of their cultural identities and to develop an appreciation of differences by assessing knowledge of other's cultures. Participants will examine the impact of bias on relationships and productivity; and a commitment to taking intentional action towards creating a better, more equitable community. CommuniTEAM Building creatively and interactively combines these elements to challenge participants to be an inclusive, intentioned and valuing staff member.

GLBT is NOT A New Sandwich at McDonalds!
Length: minimum one hour; Client Goals/Outcome based

Trying to understand the often challenging and complex issues of the gay, lesbian bisexual and transgendered community can be difficult. This engaging session will allow you to check in with what you know and offer you an opportunity to expand your knowledge and understanding of glbt individuals in the workplace. We will interactively explore some of the historical contributions, background and diversity of the GLBT culture. Creative and interactive exercises, empathy building simulations and strategies for creating change will be explored. Participants are only required to bring an open mind and a willingness to share, learn and possibly UNlearn to RElearn some thoughts they have about approaching and responding to GLBT issues in the workplace.

Cross Cultural Communication Strategies
Length: minimum one hour; Client Goals/Outcome based

Black or African American? Disabled or Physically Challenged? Am I being too "PC"? The often confusing and complex issues of communicating across cultures are creatively addressed in this interactive and engaging workshop. An overview of current terminology and vocabulary and the current practices and rationales behind using certain terms will be provided. Exercises and activities that challenge you to maximize communication effectiveness while minimizing misunderstanding and the potential conflict it can cause will be explored. Strategies for preparing verbal and written cross-cultural communication will also be given.

Managing Cross Cultural Conflict
Length: minimum one hour; Client Goals/Outcome based

Managing culturally based conflict in an organization is a process that, when handled proactively, can benefit the relationships of individuals and increase the productivity of the team. This workshop will introduce the definitions and specific types of cultural conflicts and offer a model for managing conflict. Participants will be challenged to identify their conflict triggers that can create unnecessary stress and dissention. Roleplays and video vignettes will be used to demonstrate some of the best practices for leaders to manage individual and group conflict.
